Studio Production
Studio Recording - From £120/day + £fee / track mixing and mastering*
Commercial standards are as expected with pride taken from fulfilling the artist's ideas on every recording/production we undertake.
In terms of gear, Blank Studios run a Mac/Logic based setup with Class A Focusrite and Presonus pre amps, KRK monitors and a Mackie control system. We use microphones by Rhode, AKG, Sure, DPA, Neuman and Senheiser. We have a choice of in house drum kits by Yamaha and a newly aquired Gretsch vintage kit aswell as a full selection of backline and effects by Mesa, Marshall and Tech21 amongst others...
We get as excited as the next geeky engineer about a nice tube amp or the latest flat response mic by DPA. But we at Blank believe that the real charachter and quality that can be evoked from a recorded piece of music, comes primarily from the engineers approach and a careful application of knowledge and artistic judgement. Having worked with music at every level from amateur through to top flight recordings for major labels, we believe that it is our unique team of engineers that sets us apart as the studio of choice in Newcastle.
Being active and practicing musicians ourselves, all of the Blank Studios engineers fully realise the importance of an individual approach to any production and are passionate in the practice of turning ideas and songs into tangible and unique pieces of recorded art.
Location Recording

Over the last year our main business has been that of recording on location. Running our Mac/Logic based set up with Focusrite and Presonus pre amps and a range of high quality microphones has allowed us to achieve high quality productions to compete with any top flight studio, but without the limitations of having to use the same space every time.
We often find our selves being directed to practice rooms or an interesting space that an artist may have in mind. Alternativley, we know of some excellent acoustic spaces that are available for booking through us. Details of which can be found on the studio page of our website.
Live Gig Recording
Live/Gig Recordings - From £100/gig*
Our portable studio rig allows us to easily record live gigs and events to a commercial standard. A great service for any act looking to gather together material for an album or EP or just looking to put a live demo together.
Mixing
Blank Studios offers a commercial standard audio mixing services for audio recorded with us or else where. We have a team of 3 highly skilled mixing engineers all with a wealth of experience across a broad range of styles and across all levels from quick demos to international releases.

Mastering
Audio mastering is the art of treating a finished mix, teasing that extra ounce of quality and volume out of a piece of work to bring it up to a commercial standard.
It can be an exact science and one that Blank Studios have come to understand well as our career has developed. We have a fairly extensive range of digital mastering facilities at our disposal and good knowledge of how to use them to bring the best out a piece of music at a commercial level.
Live Sound
As well as functioning as an audio production team, we also offer our services as a live sound team and can cater for a range of live events. We provide sound for everything from festival stages to corporate events and gigs of all scenes and sizes.
